Sharon Marciniak 1938 – 2025

Sharon E. Marciniak left this world on Nov. 23, 2025, after a long battle with vascular dementia, and with great sorrow we had to say goodbye.
She and her twin brother were born in Wadena, Minn., on Mar. 3, 1938. After graduating from Menahga High School in 1956, she attended MN School of Business. She then worked in the office at Ford and later held retail positions, primarily at Dayton’s in Women’s Shoes for years. Sharon always looked forward to visiting Menahga, especially Midsummer Celebrations and class reunions. She told everyone that she was from Menahga and would talk positively about her hometown to anyone who would listen.
Her interests included cooking, sewing clothes, gardening, and dogs (they had seven small dogs over the years). Harry and Sharon started ballroom dancing after the kids were grown, and Sharon competed – winning trophies in the Tango.
Sharon was a charming, beautiful, talented woman who made friends wherever she went. Her spirit is dancing in that other world.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, parents Art and Shirley Torkkola, brothers Jerry (Cherry), Marvin, twin Stanley, and Douglas.
Sharon is survived by Harry, her husband of 67 plus wonderful years, and children: Sandy Malcolm (Scott), and Randy; granddaughters: Carolyn Laursen (Drew) and Kirsten Malcolm, and great granddaughter Annie Laursen. She also leaves her sister, Glennis Hagan; sisters-in-law: Doris Torkkola, Kathi Torkkola, Jan Putnam, brother-in-law James Marciniak, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Celebration of Life was held in Crystal, Minn. 11-12pd
