Barbara Burczyk 1944- 2025

The Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Burczyk of Sebeka and formerly of Wadena, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Blue Grass, with Father Jean-Claude Duncan as celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. and visitation will continue until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Hubert’s Catholic Cemetery in Blue Grass, Minn.
Barbara was born to Edward and Rose Marie (Winkels) Olson on Jan. 12, 1944, in Canby, Minn. She attended Canby schools through the 11th grade. On Sept. 29, 1961, Barbara was united in marriage with Edward Burczyk at Wilno, Minn. She and Eddie moved to Staples in 1963. They had a small farm and raised five children: Lisa, Angela, David, Debra and Beverly. Barbara also worked at Carter Ringer Factory in Staples and at the Staples Hospital.
After Eddie’s passing, Barb worked as a home healthcare provider. She took great pride in caring for others. In her later years of retirement, Barb moved to Sebeka and resided at Providence Villa Assisted Living. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers, watching birds at the feeders, reading, sewing, coloring, crocheting and playing Bingo. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She always loved being around and watching her great grandkids with all their energy!
Barbara, 81, passed away with family by her side on June 16, 2025, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Preceding Barbara in death were her husband, Eddie (1995); parents Edward and Rose Marie; and granddaughter, Carrie Louise Ash.
Dearly loved, Barbara will be remembered by her children: Lisa (James) Ash of Wadena, Angela (Jeff) Yungbauer of Sebeka, David (Lori) Burczyk of Williston, ND, Debra (Loran) Hackler of Wadena and Beverly (Brett) Triplett of Princeton; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two expectant great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Carol) Olson of McGregor and Doug (Bernice) Olson of Bonner Springs, KS; along with extended family and friends.
