Gerald Tomlinson 1934 – 2024

Gerald Wesley Tomlinson of Johnstown, Colorado died November 7, 2024 at Banner Health North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.
Jerry was born March 30, 1934 at Wadena, Minnesota, to Wesley Gerald and Carrie Matilda (Harper) Tomlinson. He was raised in Nimrod, Minnesota on the Crow Wing River, and graduated from Sebeka High School in 1952.
Jerry went into the lumber business in nearby Callaway in partnership with his grandfather and uncle Blair Tomlinson. He married June Disney in October 1954 and later divorced.
He later owned Tomlinson Lumber Company in Vermillion, South Dakota. While there he also developed a subdivision, naming the streets after his children.
He moved to Colorado in 1965, and married Marian May in 1966. They moved to California for a few years, and then back to Colorado in the early 1970s. It was then that he started Tomlinson and Company and Tomco Properties Inc. in Denver, specializing in commercial and investment real estate throughout the United States for over 40 years.
He married Molly Morris in 1984, later divorcing.
Jerry’s life was transformed when he made Jesus Christ the Lord of his life in 1985. He was a longtime member of Resurrection Fellowship, now Rez.Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, rollerblading, swimming, and played hockey in his youth. He obtained his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.
On May 15, 2015 he married Ardis Briggs at Estes Park and moved to Johnstown.
He is survived by his wife Ardis; sisters: LaVonne Bloomquist of Menahga, Minn.; JoAnne Jones of Lincoln, Calif.; and Claudine (Mike) Hobbs of San Antonio, Texas and brother Jake (Jeanette) Tomlinson of Auburn, Calif. Also surviving are his children Connie (Keith) Pederson of Fergus Falls, Minn.; Vaune Broche of Highlands Ranch; Mary (Mike) Robertson of Fergus Falls; Jim Tomlinson of Erhard, Minn.; and Charlie (Kim) Tomlinson of Ava, Missouri, as well as their mother, June. He is also survived by sons Chris (Jena) Tomlinson of Fort Collins and Peter (Teresa) Tomlinson of Germany from his marriage to their mother, Marian, deceased. Also surviving are step children Seth (Allyson) Briggs of Austin, Texas; Joy (Raul) Urias of Windsor; and Faith (Johnny) Gutierrez of San Mateo, Calif.; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren as well as many other family members and friends.
Deceased are his mother and father, brother Roger, baby sister Patricia, grandson Justin Tomlinson and step-son Luke Briggs.
Jerry’s Life Celebration was be held Tuesday, December 10, at 2 p.m. at City Lights Church, 7251 W 4th Street, Greeley.12-18pd
