Pamela Eastlund 1955-2024

Pamela Kay (Dorenbush) Eastlund went to meet Jesus on July 27; 2024. She was born February 7, 1955 to Louis and Joyce (Graba) Dorenbush in Wadena, MN. She was the fifth of six children. The family made their home on the Dorenbush farm near Sebeka, MN. Pam attended school in Sebeka and graduated with the class of 1973. She was baptized and confirmed at the Sebeka United Methodist Church.
After graduation, Pam chose a career in the medical field and attended Wadena Tech for medical transcription. She spent years typing and met many wonderful friends throughout her career in the Twin Cities, Chicago, IL, and Mesa, AZ.
Pam married the love of her life, Michael Alan Eastlund, on November 29, 1985 and shortly after, they moved to Mesa, AZ. There they fell in love with the desert and all that AZ had to offer. They spent many weekends camping in the desert and mountains, riding ATVs, hunting, golfing, and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Pam’s relationship with Jesus was very important to her. She and Mike attended Grace United Methodist Church in Mesa for years, serving and caring for those around them. Pam enjoyed her friends in the Deborah Circle, she took several Bible studies, they served as confirmation mentors and helped wherever a hand was needed. Since their time at Grace UMC, they also attended New Hope Community Church and Sun Valley Community Church. Pam also served in the Kairos Ministry, helping women that had been incarcerated know the love of Jesus.
If you knew Pam, you know she loved deeply. Friends and family were very important to her. The Eastlund’s home was always open to neighbors, friends, and family. Living in a warmer climate, they always had winter visitors from the Midwest. They enjoyed several winters with her Dad and Mom as they were snowbirds.
Pam has always been lovingly referred to as Auntie Pam and Mike will always be Uncle Mike. Everyone called them by these special names whether they were blood relatives or not. Together Mike and Pam always made kids around them feel special and loved. Uncle Mike and Auntie Pam attended hundreds of ballgames, concerts, and important events for all the loved ones that were nearby.
Pam was a rabid Viking’s fan. Following each game, the telephone wires were hot as she would call her brother Scott or Scott would call her!
Pam was one of six children to Lou and Joyce and she loved her siblings more than anything. She and her two sisters, Becky and Jayne, had a tradition of spending a “sister week” together every Memorial Day Week. The girls would laugh, shop, eat, laugh, reminisce, make lifelong memories, laugh, and enjoyed every minute together.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Joyce Dorenbush, and her mother-in-law, Ann Marie Eastlund. She is survived by her husband Mike Eastlund, her siblings Ron (Donna Erickson) of Yorktown, VA.; Becky (Kenny) Becker of New York Mills, Terry (Mary Hotakainen) of Eau Claire, WI.; Jayne (Douglas) Koskiniemi, Sebeka; and Scott (Amy Walker) of Albertville, MN.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bruce and Joanne Eastlund of Fairmont, MN.
