Cheryl Haro 1950 – 2024

Cheryl Marie (Ritari) Haro, 73, of Nowthen, passed away May 23, 2024 after a battle with cancer.
Cheryl was born in Wadena, Minnesota, on June 19, 1950 and graduated from Sebeka High School in 1968. She moved to the Twin Cities shortly thereafter and lived in Champlin and Nowthen. Cheryl had many hobbies and interests – she started riding horses at the age of four and was a member of the Moonlight Trail Riders Saddle Club while growing up. She was a member of 4-H and later volunteered as a co-leader when she lived in Champlin. Her love (and possibly obsession) of sewing and quilting began when her Mom brought her to the store to purchase fabric to make curtains for her room when she was nine. She also had an alterations business and for the past 20 years a successful business selling beautiful quilted goods.
Cheryl was an avid reader and a lifelong volunteer, giving her time to many organizations, including serving as an election judge and as a member of the Mended Hearts Group at Mercy Hospital. Cheryl and her husband, Steve, bought a winter home in Arizona where she loved spending time – especially in the community sewing room where she gave classes and trained others to teach sewing to residents who wanted to learn how to sew and quilt. Most importantly, she loved her family and all her wonderful friends that she made over the years wherever she went. She will be deeply missed.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Melvin; brother Glenn. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Steve, daughter Cindy (Bob), sons Greg and Mark, and grandchildren Luke and Erika; and brothers: Stanley Ritari and Ross Ritari.
A memorial gathering for family and friends is being planned for Saturday, July 27. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity or planting a tree. Cheryl loved trees and planted many to beautify her properties over the years. 6-5pd

RIP old friend
