Deanna Johnson 1950 – 2024

Deanna Kay Johnson, 73, of Park Rapids, MN passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at her home.
Deanna was born September 27, 1950 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Milton and Frances (Rosell) Johnson. She graduated from Lake Park High School in 1968 and from Moorhead State College in 1972. After several years as a Head Start Teacher in Detroit Lakes and post office clerk in Hitterdal, Deanna worked 28 years for Wadena County Social Services, retiring in 2014.
She enjoyed bird watching and was a supporter of the Friends of the Headwaters and other environmental causes. She was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Deanna was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was always striving to help her sons find the best life possible. Her commitment to her son, Craig, and his care will leave a large void. Her presence will be missed by her grandchildren at school and life events as she never missed an opportunity to attend any sporting event or function they had. Deanna always loved and was loved by her brother, sister-in-law, nieces and many cousins.
Deanna is survived by her sons: Todd (Tracy) Becker of Perham, MN, Craig Becker of Park Rapids; three grandchildren, Haley (Ryan) Roberts, Hannah Hunter and Brandt Becker; brother, Dennis (Carma) Johnson of Olympia, WA; two nieces, Kirsten (Ryan) Braden and their children, Matea and Alex of St. Albert, Alberta, CA, and Megan (Bob) Basham and their son Eli of Boise, ID.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Frances Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
