Vernon Kath 1945 – 2025

Vernon “Vern” Ronald Kath, age 79, of Menahga, Minn., passed away on June 16, 2025, at Sandford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Menahga. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church.
Vernon Ronald Kath was born on Nov. 23, 1945, in Pipestone, Minn., to Reverand G. L. and Erna (Bruns) Kath. Vernon attended and graduated from Park Rapids High School as part of the class of 1963. After graduation Vernon was enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany for two years before his honorable discharge. Upon returning home, Vernon went on to further his education at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn.
Vernon was united in marriage to Linda Bartholmey in 1969 and the couple made their home in Lakeville, Minn., later in Melby, Minn., and then finally in Menahga.
Vern spent his career as a purchasing agent in the dental field.
His hobbies were fishing, especially with his second cousin Karl, and refurbishing pontoons with his brother Gordon.
Vern is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harvey and Gilbert.
Deeply loved, Vern’s passing will be mourned by his wife of 56 years Linda; sister Harriet (Dennis) Wiesgram; brother Gordon (Roxanne) Kath; sisters-in-law Norita Kath and Nan Kath; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Lakewood Oncology Patient Fund.
