Joyce Harmala 1938 – 2025

Joyce E. Harmala died Feb. 25, 2025 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Harmala, and her son Timmy Harmala.
Joyce was born on Sept. 10, 1938 to Edwin and Alina Niemela in Detroit, Mich. She was raised in Sebeka, Minn., raised her family in Farmington Hills, Mich. and resided most recently in Howell, Mich.
She was the loving mother of seven children: Terry (Michele), Laurie (Larry) Hamilton, Linda (Mike) Mattson, Leanne, Kevin, Karl (Kelli), Lisa (Matt) Kominars. She is survived by her grandchildren Michael Hacker, Christina (Justin) Dillow, Ryan (Melissa) Harmala, John (Sydney) L’Esperance, Jessica (Brandon) Phillips, Liz Faye, Emma Kominars, Tyler Kominars, Abigail, Alize, Kaydence, Lily, Sidney, and Faith, and her five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 27, 2025 at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church, 2970 Oak Grove Road, Howell, MI 48855. Interment followed at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Mich.
