David Kotila 1960 – 2024

David Roger Kotila, 64, Park Rapids, MN passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at his home.
David was born September 1, 1960 in Park Rapids to Martin and Martha (Haataja) Kotila. He grew up on a dairy farm in rural Menahga and helped on the farm. He had a large trap-line, trapping beaver, muskrat, mink, and fox. He worked for Rockcrete, Camas in Park Rapids, Menahga Concrete, and helped install septic systems.
David enjoyed fishing and hunting. He liked blueberry picking and gardening. He was always curious about how things worked. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing radios, T.V.s, and VCRs.
He is survived by his son, Shane Kotila of Audubon; his mother, Martha Kotila of Park Rapids; his siblings: Melvin (Liz) Kotila of Brainerd, Kathy Moore of Virginia, MN, James Kotila of Wadena; brother-in-law, Ken Dickinson; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Martin Kotila; sisters, Corrine Kotila, Julie Dickinson; a brother, Terry Kotila; and his son, Chase Kotila.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service.
