     Boy, oh boy! It´s twin boys! Hunter Stanley and Hayden Daniel were born January 29, 2008, at North Memorial in Robbinsdale.
     Hunter weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces, Hayden weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces and both boys were 18-1/2 inches long.
     Proud parents are Traci and Steve Moreland of Aitkin. Grandparents are LaVerna Ohlgren and Allen and Gerry Ohlgren of Menahga; and Norma and Darrel Noyes of Big Lake, and the late Stanley Moreland.

     A baby boy, Erik Roger McIntyre, was born May 2, 2008, at 8:10 a.m., to Amy Olson and William McIntyre of Wadena. He weighed seven pounds and was 20 inches long. He was delivered by Dr. Bobbi Adams at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.

Brandy Kruger and Stephen Schmid of Menahga are the parents of a baby boy, Noah Edward Schmid, born April 28, 2008, at 6:46 p.m. Noah weighed eight pounds and was 21 inches long. He was delivered by Dr. Aaron Larson at Tri-county Hospital in Wadena. Surprise, he´s a boy – not a girl as anticipated!
Laestadian Lutheran Church Dedication & Open House
     The Laestadian Lutheran Church of Menahga will mark the completion of its new church in Menahga with a dedication service and open house. They welcome you to join them.
     The dedication service will be held May 16-18. There will be two open house events during which visitors may tour the facility, ask questions, and enjoy refreshments. The first will be on Saturday, May 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The second open house will be held on Saturday, May 17, just prior to the dedication program from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
     The dedication services will begin Friday evening, May 16, at 7:00 p.m., continue with a special program and services at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, and conclude on Sunday. Schedule below.
     Visiting speakers will inclue Matti Lääkkö of Oulunsalo, Finland; Raimo Savolainen of Ulvila, Finland, and Keith Waaraniemi of Plymouth, Minnesota. Matti Lääkkö is a former chairman of the Suomen Rauhanyhdistysten Keskusyhdistys (SRK). Raimo Savolainen, formerly of Toronto, Ontario, is a fomer member of the Laestadian Lutheran Church (LLC) board. Keith Waaraniemi is a current member of the LLC board and is the LLC’s pastoral director.
     Keith Waaraniemi’s Friday evening sermon will be aired on KKDK FM 97.5 at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17. The services will also be live streamed on the congregation’s web page at llcmenahga.org.

Aunt Sally Coming to Menahga

     Please join the congregation at First English Lutheran Church in Menah­ga for a special presentation, “Taste and See that the Lord is Good,” on Monday, May 12. Sara Forsberg, in the form of Aunt Sally, will deliver a joyful and practical message about God’s love, and entertain you with her songs, poems and humor.
     Dessert will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the presentation to begin at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

90th Birthday Party for Kaino Hotakainen
     There will be a 90th birthday celebration for Kaino Hotakainen on Saturday, May 17. Family and friends are invited to join Kaino for the special occasion at the Sebeka Senior Citizen Center, beginning at 12:00 noon.


Christian Women’s Club Lunch, May 13
     The Wadena Christian Women’s Club invites all women to their May lunch at the Elks Lodge in Wadena on Tuesday, May 13, at 12:00 noon. The special speaker, Ellen Bergman of Flandreau, South Dakota, will share “Help in the Time of Trouble.” Local member Jo Meyers will share some neat craft ideas and Julie Peterson of Staples will provide special music. Complementary nursery is available. Nursery and lunch reservations or cancellations are required. Call Jan at (218) 631-9018 before Friday, May 8.

Brooke Elizabeth Baso was born on at 12:37 p.m. on March 2, 2008, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Crosby, Minnesota. She was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long. Parents are Chris and Kerri Baso who reside in Baxter. Grandparents are Kim and George Baso and Scott & Lori Sagedahl. Great-grandparents are Berta Trimble, David Trimble, Chuck and Karen Sagedahl, and Pete and Betty Thomas.
